  Managed key political-related functions; including all communications, fundraising and public relations activities. Championed local and statewide ballot measures, monitored regulatory and legislative activity, and provided necessary testimony and advocacy.

Accomplishments

• Planned and managed the largest political construction fundraiser in the state, raising over $500,000 in revenue over four years.
• Developed and implemented a complete public relations campaign, resulting in local, state, and national recognition.
• Conducted an analysis of contracting practices in the City of San Jose and San Francisco, which resulted in the adoption of new laws and specifications within both cities.

Fundraising& Special Events

• Primary liaison between EUCA and government agencies, including Caltrans, Air Resources Board (ARB), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
• Actively participated in working groups with public agencies when developing new standards or specification.
• Monitored, analyzed, and assessed legislative and regulatory developments, writing support or opposition letters when necessary.

Public Relations

• Planned, wrote and edited all press releases for relevant related periodicals and other national, state and local construction publications.
• Disseminated information on legislative, regulatory and other critical issues to the membership via bulletins and magazine articles.
• Editorial Advisory Committee Member for California Construction Magazine, monitoring and evaluating all magazine content.

Administrative

• Responded to telephone inquiries/requests from individuals which include association members and organizations as well as media, associations, companies and Congressional staff.
• Updated the Board of Directors on the activities of the department as necessary, liaison to the Government Relations and Safety & Insurance Committees.
